Council Tax (Southwark Council)

Starting from April 2013 all Traveller residents will have to start paying their own Council Tax, the amount residents will have to pay various from £10.00 to £15.00 per month.

EVERYBODY HAS TO PAY COUNCIL TAX except for: Pensioners. In special circumstances single persons and Carers maybe entitled to a discount.

This is not just for Traveller residents but for all residents in Southwark. By now all residents should of received their Council Tax bill/statement, please contact STAG if you have received it and would like anymore information or need advice and support or alternately you can ring the Council Tax directly on 020 7525 1850.

Please note: Residents who do not pay their Council Tax please be aware that the Council Tax department can apply to DWP to make deductions from your benefit to cover your council tax bill, this will result in you paying a higher rate.

Well London- funding for projects to take place on the Unwin and Friary Estates

Well-London is a community project to increase the Health and Well-Being of residents in and around the Unwin and Friary Estates in Peckham.

You can bid to run a project, costing £250-£1000, to promote health and well being. Residents of the Peckham Traveller sites can also apply, though projects would have to happen in the area of the Unwin or Friary Estate with estate residents. Projects can include sports, arts and crafts, cooking classes, quizzes and games etc. Young people (14+) can also apply. Click here for a link.
